Nallur Kandaswamy Temple or Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil dates back from 1734 and is the fourth rebuilt structure. The construction of the first building was in 948 AD.
An enormous hall, holy pool, and the brasswork decoration are a few features of the Kovil. It is a sacred location for the Hindus. Honoring Murugan ( Skanda), the God of Love, war, and beauty, the Kovil is a divine and religious place for the Hindus.
Nallur served as the Capital of Jaffna in the ancient and was a lively city back then. The Kovil is the heart of the magnificent and energetic Nallur Festival. If you visit the northern part of Sri Lanka make sure you visit Nallur Kandaswamy Temple in Jaffna.
