Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Golden Temple or the Temple of the Tooth is a venerated Buddhist worship location as it preserves the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. A noticeable feature of the Temple is the golden canopy that makes it easily identifiable from far away. Near the Temple is the artificial lake popularly known as the Kandy Lake, it has another name Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk. Built-in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe.
